PRAISING A MOCKINGBIRD

Written: October 16, 2025, for contest sponsored by: Nette Onclaud *********** Oh, mockingbird, stout and bright, You weave the dawn with delight. Each gray song is clean and free, Tree's symphony—life's decree. Without means or crowd, you sing— A voice that molds hush to cling, Life bard with feathery grace.

Birds sing naturally, never expecting a crowd to listen to them. They never use any musical instruments. Yet they are bards with 'feathery grace's. Beautiful....! .

This is a lovely poem. The mockingbird has the right qualities in song and beauty to have earned these wonderful words. Good luck with the contest.
