Praise

I’ve had to learn to give thanks
For all the blessings in life.
For the good health of my kids
And for the love of my wife.
I’ve had to learn to give thanks
For His mysterious ways.
And every morning I wake
And in my heart I give praise.

It’s quite a lesson to learn
And it goes on every day.
So often I just forget
As I am going my way.
It’s quite a lesson to learn
And I get lost in the haze.
But every night before sleep
I take a moment for praise.

I lift up my voice and give praise
And from my heart’s depths I praise
With every breath that I take
And every choice that I make
And for all goodness sake I give praise

So, if you learn nothing else
As you are living your life
With every victory won
And through the hard times and strife
If you would learn nothing else
Remember lift up your gaze
Up to the One who gives all
And from your heart give Him praise

So, lift your voice and give praise
And from your heart’s depths give praise
With every breath that you take
And every choice that you make
And for all goodness sake give Him praise
