Practice What You Preach

We teach our children the rights and wrongs The correct way to behave and be Manners, morals, fairness Kindness and honesty Be respectful to all of life’s creatures Do not hurt or mistreat No verbal, emotional, physical abuse From violence you retreat Lately, l feel disillusioned With the behaviour l have seen Of “supposed” adults Words and actions obscene Hurtful words, inappropriate conduct Disrespect, disregard, ugly displays I wonder what our children would think Watching how their “teachers” honestly behave!

You could not have expressed this better, Deb. What a bad example this is to future generations of children. It breeds ill-mannered children who have not been allowed to know any better.

The advice you have provided is truly insightful, my friend. I am curious to know whether the proliferation of social media platforms has contributed to the progression of such behavioral patterns.

being a positive role model has gone to the wayside in today's world. The 'adults' who live in our neighborhood swear, cuss, are rude and disrespectful. I've learned to avoid them. A pleasant write...enjoy your evening, Sara

In corrupt Malta, swearing has become legal. We humans never learn. Blessings.
