Power of Innocence
I twirl around, eyes closed,
In a fog, so thick
Feeling like I am a fawn
Wanting to play
Wanting to be cuddled
And sheltered
But realizing not that preying on me
Are wolves, thirsting
And salivating
Ready to swallow me in a gulp
For attracted they are
To my flesh and my bones!
Pray, mindless of the danger
I twirl, jump and swagger
As if the God fairy of Cinderella watched over me
As if crushed and broken into pieces
Would be all those wolves!
Pray, eyes closed
I can only follow the pulls of my heart
Its frenetic beats
Seem to resound with a confidence
Implying that I should keep moving
Going wherever I feel like
For, faced with my innocence
Even wolves shall turn all meek!
