Power and Grace

Over gritty dirt of the city Above the dust of country towns Your truth will be 'outspoken' Though opposition may abound You know the heart you look inside To the lies men fashion there You lift the soul downtrodden; the Mind fevered and heavy with cares You call on many to serve you You know their name in Love The trials they'll face under your Grace now innocent as doves The wisdom of the serpent, The strength of mighty steeds All this you will endow to them when under test;They are to be Life and death are yours to give And none may otherwise say You take and give the right is yours That is 'your' power and 'your' way If you take a child unto your side, Its life there; you will better treat Where your heart glows there true Love grows, eternal Love so sweet Heavens flowers shine in colour alive, Where nothing comes to age You keep the best you made for all, who will stay the course; On this passing faltering stage. ©Joe Maverick 25-2-2018
