Notes About The Poem

FYI, the "Police" is the name of a rock band that wrote the song "Message in the bottle" If you never heard it, google it. It's a beautiful song :)  I realize that there are only 365 days in a year and there are thousands of poets here so maybe a thing to do is to have a few POTD's awarded each day. This way more poets get their poetry read. In the past year I have had POTD twice...and that's not bad considering how many poets there are, so by no means am I complaining. It's more about getting more poetry read for poets. Just sayin' 

Potd a Message By the Police

Some poets, are an island lost at sea 
Another day goes by, and still no P.O.T.D.  
Other poets, their faces 
Their faces are everywhere 
Other poets, feel left out
They fall into despair 

I'll send an S.O.S. to the soup

I hope administration gets my 
I hope administration gets my 
I hope administration gets my message for some poets 
We want our P.O.T.D's too

Sometimes it's not so easy 
Sometimes I just don't get 
Sometimes it's not so easy...to be administrations pet

Sandra Adams February 14, 2020 at 8:41 PM I love it and started singing it instead of reading it when I got to the sos… I have no idea how they do these POTDs but it's how I have found some poets I hadn't found on my own...I work so my days are crazy and some days I have little time to spend here so I read who I can when I can... anyway I enjoyed your clever poem... hugs

I can't help but notice some names appear often, mine included, I haven't a clue how it's chosen as it's out of our hands but you're right, it would give poets a boost also P. O. T. W.
