Post Tropical Winds and Ocean Music
We were warned this post tropical event would happen in
These three days we’re going through,
With high roaring winds and seas producing humongous
Waves that seemed to delight in crashing upon those rocks
And cliffs that have suffered the same from other storms in Their past.
Standing here on this cliff, dressed in my rain wear, I take joy
And am amazed at the power of the ocean when, with high
Winds, they create a harmony of seaside music tones of
Splashes, roars and howling winds through roof eves and
Still standing trees.
Houses, stores, sheds and other buildings had been battened
Down before this post tropical storm came upon us and boats
Tied up in hopes they might still be usable when it had gone.
After a hour or two or was it three…
I went home and finally fell asleep
At about two AM.
