Post Script To Sadness

I can’t live your addiction
 with you anymore
I just don’t know what I can believe
I’m afraid that the last time
 you walk out my door
We’ll be saying goodbye when you leave

My heart, it just sinks
when I know that you’ve gone
to the ones
 you consider your ‘friends’
So let go of my hand
you must walk this alone
I don’t think I can see you again.

The very caption of the poem is imaginative and forces you to read on, and what you read is heart-wrenching as someone said.

Heart wrenching! Hope you don't mind my quoting..."Bad associations spoil good habits" 1Cor. 15:33 You say, " let go of MY hand"...so sad...when YOU are NEEDING to let go...saying "I don't THINK". tell's me you know what to do, just need help doing it... YOU have to let go of HIS HAND. If this is reality, not just a poem ,my heart goes out to you I am as near as "soup mail".bbn

Your poem seems a reply to a famous novel of Francoise Segan: Bonjour Tristess! You depicted with much talent a feeling as possible ”common recollections”, thus as general human experience, both poetical and kind of communication from soul to soul.
