Positive Words

Positive words make a difference in ways by surprise One day, someone told me something I’ve never been told I thought back on the years, so many crisis happened Yet, no-one ever told me this kind of compliment Briefly I wondered why, because it was a new surprise But, now I only know that it will never be forgotten It reached me deeply with appreciation and relief Maybe, I won’t need to second guess so much, so often Yet the words were simple, brief and resonating I suppose people just hadn’t taken time to recognize it Then, I realized it’s true. Some people tend to be negative and others positive. It's the positive people who are most sought after as friends for the reasons you describe so beautifully in your poem, Heidi. We should always try to uplift others with our words. Hugs, Carolyn

Good I got through my day of work, two grocery stops, and the drive home to be greeted by 'positive words'. There may be finer things in life. But such I don't know. -Richard

It's surprising what a word can do to a person. Whether it's good or ba a simple word can really affect a person. The Bible tells us that words have power so be careful how you use them. I know this to be treue in my own life. Great job here. God Bless, JB

Hi Heidi, I agree; positive words can make a big impact. That’s why I never understood the saying, “ Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” It took me years to get over hurtful things said to me in the past—good content with a positive message.
