Portrait of Your Heart

If I could paint 
a portrait of your heart 
I will adorn it
with precious stones
and all the beautiful 
blossoms of spring.

I will borrow colours,
to dawn and sunset
from fuchsia to scarlet 
to highlight hues
of the joy you bring.


Then I will hang
that portrait
to a wall 
where my soul
finds its home.
