Portait of Spring
Soft warm breezes carry a heavy
scent of fragrant flowers in bloom.
Wreath the air with sweetest perfume,
a delicate lace of flowers lay tenderly
across the trees,
cascading down from amaranthine boughs,
through hollows and by gentle babbling
streams.
A symphony of birds, so sweetly sing,
keeping rythem with the old front porch swing.
Winding dirt country roads
draped with billowing willow trees,
and a carpet of green upon mossy rocks
becomes a welcoming seat.
Rotting fence posts and rusty barbwire entangled
with honeysuckle’s twining vine.
A portrait of spring created by God’s own design.
