  then you're way beyond popular ---
  (you have talent)

Your poetry will stand well the test of time, while some of the modern poets that are slinging the in fashion hash will not in my opinion. I write the same way for posting here whether it is a contest entry or not. Hunt Date: 3/1/2018 9:19:00 AM Very true Richard, Hopkins wasn't even published while alive, he was only discovered after his death by accident; I personally have many musical friends who could have 'made it' easily, but were never in it for the glory and money --- my best friend was asked by 14 record labels to sign, turned them all down --- the man can sing like songbird, he's happy with his simple writing life and occasional musical jam.
