Please, dear, join me tonight - 
Perhaps, for a delight, 
Popping, exploding loud,
Puffing up like a cloud. 
Probing in a fresh bag,  
Precisely, no time lag, 
Pull a ring.  Make me proud.

Congrats on your popping win, David. At the tender age of umpteen and a bit I’ve actually never popped corn. Does that make me weird? ;-) Terry

hmm, I don't think it's weird if you never popped it. It would be unusual if you've never eaten it - lol. When I was a kid, there was something called Jiffy Pop, which was quite fun. You should try it if they still have it!

Thanks Andrea. I was just imagining a guy putting an engagement ring in a bag of popcorn on a date - I guess that's pretty offbeat...it might have been a corner I backed myself into when I decided to make it rhyme. Nowadays, it seems a lot of young folks are going through some really elaborate engagement rituals.
