Pop V Art
To me Pop is merely just a passing fad
No denying it has it's place
Every generation has it's own
Individual to a certain age fashion
time and craze
Bubble gum frivolous in nature
something you try but can't get
out your head
Whereas a genuine artist or songwriter
painstakingly construct's his lyrics almost
as if his life depends on it
He chooses rather to writes from that
which troubles his heart
So hopefully 1 day in the future he is able
to look back
With an inner sence of pride and
accomplishment
Knowing it stood the test of time
because they never lied
And why they are today still
being name checked
By current artists they have inspired
into wanting to be just like them
Because they inadvertently heard
it being played at home by mum and dad
And above all the countless live
concert performances , album
sale's , prize's , fandom and acclaim
The greatest reward I hope of all must
surely be to them
That what they created way back when
they themselves we're young
And is still as relevant and as cool to today's
kid's as it was to him
Talent is timeless and stays forever young
