Pondering and Percolating

we writers strive to achieve our best
to bring forth what percolates within our breast
giving rise to thoughts that are eager to be
placed on paper for the world to see

at times we struggle as if climbing walls
other times we buckle when we hear the call
crying out from deep down in our bones
for sweet release, to find a new home

for the words we hear in a muffled voice
conflicted by each and every choice
of letter, syllable, comma, phrase
waiting to appear on a bare new page

we know it's hiding in that writer's womb
a seed of surprise waiting to bloom
any moment now, from dawn to dusk
pondering, percolating is a must

And you can tell the difference, Terrell, can you not, between a well-pondered and percolated piece of poetry and one dashed off in a rush? Much like the difference between a perfectly brewed cup of coffee...and instant!

Wonderful way of telling it like it is for us writers and poets, Terry. Loved the title. Write On! my friend. Bill

We ponder our thoughts as they percolate while brewing. Then, our cup overflows with what we've created. Your rhythmic beat is always perfection, Terry.

Your response is very charming and I'm not sure I deserve such accolades. Thank you very kindly, Terry.

Jenna, coming from someone like you whom I consider a poetess "Extraordinaire," I'm thankful and humbled to the bone. Thanks for reading, commenting and lifting my spirits as you always do. Hugs & blessings too, Terry

I know of that which you write. I sometimes feel sad that poets are hardly appreciated by the world. We are our own little kingdoms on the internet. Thank goodness for our peers and a few of our supporters who are not poets!!Very nicely done and thanks for your sweet comment on my love song.
