Pompeii

Tragic is the end of Pompeii Incarcerated in molten graves The once thriving elitist lifestyle ended Now in quietude they lay And the culture that they created swept away All bow heads and mourn for Pompeii Nobody and nothing deserves to die that way Mothers children and fathers had no chance of escape As the lava flowed down the mountain side They must have known in that moment they would die Many just waited, many just cried No where to run no where to hide Nature for a change wrought human genocide So spare a thought for the people of Pompeii Silently sleeping in their molten graves.

Hello Wade Fauxcroft, Pompeii, I remember it well. I had a tour there back in the 70's. It was such an interesting tour, I wanted to see it all.I was so intrigued with the tour, i wondered off and got lost. I had to follow another tour guide to get back to the bus. have a nice evening my friend.

Brilliantly penned Fauxcroft, I achieved a bucket list ambition last year and visited Pompeii but I actually preferred Herculaneum which was far better preserved:-) hugs jan xx
