Notes About The Poem

An observation on the psychology of a politician.

Political Personalities

Political Personalities

Political personalities
Are oh so far from real
At least when I observe them
I think that is the deal

Whatever it takes to get the seat
Everything that's old and new
Would not be in the running
If they were not willing to

Their opponent is a liar
He's just a low class crook
All the bad things he has done
Would fill more than a book

They are quite the opposite
Have always been the best
Walked on water when it's there
Did not sink like all the rest

Never cheated never lied
Walked the straight and narrow way
Took no money for anything
So there's no one there to pay

Say when they're elected
They'll do everything for you
And when that does not happen
Say there was nothing they could do

The establishment would not help them
They tried their very best
The fault is never with them
It's the fault of all the rest

Remember next time they're running
And nothing has been done
Don't blame them that it happened
For they were not the one
