Police Me Not
Police Me Not
Written By: D. Collins 12/3/14
Thanks to Rodney, Trayvon, Eric, and Michael Brown.
The world has a glimpse of how policing goes down.
They shoot-to-kill, or strangle a man to death.
Stand over a body until it’s dying breath.
They’ve blown up babies sleeping in their crib.
Killed a homeless man sleeping in the hills.
They were decent people who were sacrificed.
So that the world could see, paid with their life.
Like the twelve year old shot down in Cleveland.
All black men should know its now open season.
Each cop involved didn’t do a day in jail.
I wonder if Grand Juries are now the Holy Grail.
Police me not, if this is how it is.
Avoiding their presence is how we’ll continue to live.
They have bad intensions when the block gets hot.
Just the same, I’d rather they police me not.
