Pointlessness of War
The dead and dieing laying in piles
carnage of the pointless war
buildings hazed to the ground
devastation where ever the eye could see
Young men and women back from the front
suffering from the horrors seen and committed
knowing they have blood on their hands
and for what!!! Certainly no gain earned.
Blindly following orders made from afar
people who have never seen the awful carnage
who sleep safe in warm beds with pleasant dreams
no deity asked for this war just the greed of man
Maybe if they had to spend a couple of weeks
fearing daily for their sorry worthless life's
amidst the wreckage that they have caused
maybe, just maybe they would stop and think again
