Poignant Haiku

spring dream
a rooster stirs the stillness
into dawn

distant hill
a river carrying
the spring

rolling out
of the rice fields –
remaining snow

spring’s end
my infant fingers
the fallen petal

sun bath
an eagle circles
the day moon

autumn dawn --
mother serves white rice
on an almond leaf

autumn sky
patches of twilight
in the falling leaf
