There are no rules None at all Stop dotting I’s, stop crossing T’s Murder every word Form is for Bureaucrats, verse for fools Better a fool than a static form Use an army of pens and paper and crush all the rules Grammar, syllables, spelling, all fodder for slaughter Rules are for dictionaries Poetry should flow from the soul If you words sing true from your heart You have conquered the art of expression You, my friend have won the war of poetry

ALL poetry is great. Every freaking inch of it. I agree with the spirit of your very fine write my friend. I tend to judge poems I read on 1. Rhyme, 2. Heart's message, 3. Spirit it inspires and last on ruled form being met. A bias I know since my form is so often weak. I tend to ignore little mistakes in a GREAT WRITE, perfection is not the poet's role- INSPIRATION , LOVE , HEART and GIVING is IMHO!! FOR BETTER OR WORSE MY VIEW.. As usual, love your write and your spirited inspiration given.

Arthur, I renew my poetic license every year. I keep it next to the dictionary and thesaurus. I too have taken the "poetic axe" to more than a few words and phrases. I have my wife proof read my poems as I am a gruesome grammarian.

hahaha :D forms and the types limits us.. :D they may seem so uneasy and quite deliminating freedom from writers but as for me these forms are like the rule and regulations in society that mold us into better individuals.. :) they are also challenges that brings about well best or worst in us.. :D! they discipline our freedom.. the syllable counts makes us think and use the rightful words. :) free verse is great sure!! however, trying something new doesn't make you less, it's growing!

Thanks Olive, I was just being funny, Learning and using all forms is great, however, the underlying message is write from the heart, I would always break form if I think its actually better to do so!

and besides knowing and trying the forms will excite you if you want to learn them :D but if you stick to yours and don't want to give it a try no worries, you are best at your own! :D love those armies you mentioned up :D they are indeed very useful.. :D! ;)
