Poetry Speaks
Soothingly smooth and eternal
The thrill of the lyre so majestic
An impulse so divine
Sheltered securely in scriptures
Of musings enchanted
A melodramatic rhythm
Beating like African drums
Used for summoning ancestral spirits
Clashing like the Titans
of ancient Greece
The mixture of guitar strings
And harp melodies so glorious
Thus are all mankind enthused
Wrapped in torn garments of poverty
The pattern of their skilled talents
Heard like sermons of good tidings
Preached through the orchestration
Of bands that dance
As the character of music
Keeps breathing through rhymes eternally.
