Poetry Soup

Someone’s dreams and hopes set afloat,
sail across the poetry soup,
someone else’s tears, loss and heartache,
has just made me weep in my room.

I pen a song and sing it loud,
laugh with a limerick I wrote,
someone out there may smile a while,
and share the laughter with his spouse.

I admire a few for wisdom,
am in love with someone out there,
have lost a few over the years,
yet live on in poetry soup.

their love, goodness, poetic skill,
religions, beliefs or dogmas,
their humour, wisdom and sadness,
is brew we call poetry soup!
