What do you see when you read your favorite lines
Do the words bring back memories
Or are they just rhymes
Is it just a poem or a look in the past
Are the words fleeting
And will they last
What do you see when you read between the rhymes
Is there meaning there
That will stand for all times
Step back and judge the poem as a whole
Does it have meaning
Does it have a soul
Will you return and read it again
And hold it in your heart
To remind you of a time when
You needed a poem to express
What was in your soul
Love, sorrow, hate, joy and happiness
