Poetry Is the Cure

When smoke consumes clear horizons, manipulating corridors of the mind, beckoning imminent afflictions poetry is the remedy. A poet's first eternal love, forming an authentic bond. A tonic of silent expressions creating a potion of poetic confessions. When the soul reignites the muse, stars become brighter, the sun mightier and majestic, the moon mysteriously tranquil so we weave words of wisdom. When emotive ink becomes the essence, that flows deeper than rivers of blood, piercing through ruptured veins we express words the tongue cannot utter. Poetry never broke my heart, my poems are forever faithful. When passages of life become obscure unwind the mind, for poetry is the cure.

Hi So refreshing to read a poem on here which never plays havoc with grammar or word order (such things as "piously went to church did she", adjectives after the words they modify, and other tedious tropes commonly held to be "poetic language")-- a poem with intelligent diction and never trite or tired. Well done!

Hi Silent One, I so enjoyed this poem because I do believe (as you do) that poetry does unwind, and clear the mind, and in fact find it be addictive. Well penned silent one and good luck. I think i have said congrats for poem of the day, but again congrats. Poetry wishes, Jennifer

O God! My dear Silent One. This is a most powerful piece. This is so much of who I am. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful! By the way, I wrote a piece, 'Then And Now' and forgot both the post as well as enter your contest. Senior moment I guess. Blessings.

Excellent, I expect nothing less than excellence from you. This is not just a simple musing but a powerful statement, that many poets can mutually agree upon. Always a pleasure visiting your page. I like that fourth stanza. It's very bodily and emotive. "deeper than rivers of blood, piercing through ruptured veins" <3 Always, Laura
