Poetry Held Captive

Poetry held captive, I can’t find my words
If I scream them out loud, they would still go unheard

Poetry held captive, imagination is stained
Soiled my inspiration, now I’m stricken with pain

Poetry held captive, nowhere to be found
My mind speaks a thousand tongues, but there is no sound

Poetry held captive, no way of escape
Violating my expressions, committing lyrical rape

Poetry held captive, I can’t find my voice
My heart no longer sings; there’s no need to rejoice

Poetry held captive, I can’t find my verse
Without it I’m lost, as if I’m cursed with a curse

Poetry held captive, where are my thoughts
Daggers piercing through my mind, it’s like poetic assault

Poetry held captive, alone and distraught
I’ve searched high and low, my lyrics are sought

Poetry held captive, it longs to be freed
Release this hold you have, take these chains off of me.

Hello Chiquita...I'm trying my darndest to feel your lack of write, yet I find it in every stanza here dear poet, words spilling on slip, which is truly an encouragement for those of us who do have moments of blank ! It seems, even with your "writers block", you have brilliantly caused poesy to fill this page with thought ! And this day, you go down as one of my favorite poets ! Have a wonderful weekend my friend...much love, james

Staring at a blank page Words that won't come out Causing your mind to rage Look for something you have never seen Perhaps a cloud up in the sky With a mental ease The words begin to fly :-) Sorry...I just had to write. I loved the poem <3

Sound like lamentations of a writer in block but I'm sure you are not the writer because the poem will contradict it. Hahaha. An excellent write,Chiamaka. Thanks for sharing
