Notes About The Poem

In one of her recent poems, "In Simplicity," our international poet friend, Brandy Nicole, made us aware of the "Minute Poem." This is my first attempt at this form of poetry. Needless to say, it took me more than a minute to write it :) Thank you, Brandy!

Form ~ Minute Poetry

The Minute Poem is a rhyming verse form consisting of
12 lines of 60 syllables, formatted in 3 stanzas of
8,4,4,4; 8,4,4,4; 8,4,4,4 syllables.
The rhyme scheme is aabb, ccdd, eeff

Poetry Friends

Exposed to types of poetry
a coterie
of poet friends
great poems pen

I wish that I could read them all
from that I fall
the mountain climb
there is no time

How satisfying to belong
we're growing strong
our dear peer group

:) Awe, and this is penned perfectly Mark. I am happy that you tried this. It is fun and of course takes a little more than a minute to create. But worth it in the end. I have at least two other forms I shall post here one day, maybe three. I enjoyed reading your friendship poem. :) Brandy
