Poetry Eyes

Few people read and less do heed
The things that poetry can say,
When written words do try to tell
Of things that yet will be.
I’ve written…what if Covid gets
Into all our ocean waters…
Would it infect the fish we eat
And pass it on to us?
It’s come to light that tests have found
Traces in sewers of Covid
And in toilet wastes in places…
How next will it mutate?
Relaxing guards is not the way
To destroy Coronavirus,
But, heeding what you’re reading can
Become your one “heads up.
When sports and gatherings take down
Their stop signs and relax their rules
Look for Covid to clap its hands
And go to work again.

That second wave will be much worse than anyone expects. Keep safe. W.C.
