Poetry Contests

You are right, Seeker, I feel they inspire me to write and explore different themes, so yeah, "bliss bursts":)

On popular demand … an alternative mindset presented below the first verse :)

Heya seeker being a bit controversial in this one, poetry contests are optional, if we like it try it, if not forget it, no pressure other than what people put on themselves, I get some great ideas for poems, even if I don’t enter, bliss bursts indeed, cheers David

Hi Seeker! Love your last line, "bliss bursts." On other side of the coin, I think I must disagree that contests bring out our "worst." I have learned much from writing contest entries, reading other entries, reading the motivating entries of other poets, learning new forms, stretching out of a comfort zone. I try to view each contest as a unique opportunity to grow, produce something new, unique and original. Thank you for all of the opportunities you provid to do just that! Blessings!

Ah, so true, Unseeking Seeker. I wish I could get away from them. They are habit-forming, and so many times they keep me from writing the kind of poetry I should be writing. Thanks for your verse.
