Poetry Challenge 1- 7 19 2026
Ebon River reveals a boat,
setting sail,
in the season of plump
and full pine trees.
A serene river, bubbles up,
with a voracious flood -
a glass ornament,
the size of a child’s eyes,
stomped upon,
becomes a tear,
released in the full view
of a stately tree.
The girl, back to
being a miniature
of herself,
lights up with blinking bulbs,
sets sail
for calmer waters.
Such are the snapshots,
the traversing of thought,
a compass points away
from tragedy,
chooses to ornament
herself, in the present,
instead of the past.
