POETRY AND ME

Poetry is my heart scroll -
mantra for my soul

When young, poetry insistently pursued me -
keen to best tune my individuality.
Blank pages have long since stirred possibilities -
writing excites my awe-pulsed capabilities.
Poetry partnered me during each life stage –
yet constantly failed to share how it earned a wage.
Like many, I worked days to earn livable pay -
I office-hid when words bid I should pen their stay.
I treasure my writes as friends who shared my journey -
for just they stayed in constant accord beside me.
 
Poetry and me -
as two feel that I best see
