Poetry is a way of life
Poetry is history
Poetry..Poetry is in every bit of me
Poetry allow me to express what is bothering me

Poetry is the sweet innocence that describes me en-tirely
Poetry is the one thing that understands me
The one thing that can see right through to the very hidden specks of me
Poetry is the happiness that the world sometimes takes from me
Poetry is what I use to express myself indefinitely
from a teeter tot to an adult, from living as a personality to finding my spiritual identity
Poetry, Poetry is the most important part that has been missing from me
so here I am returning to the true essence of me
The truth is
I have been really missing this part of me
this part of me that I traded on a whim,
on an image that fit much better
with the standards of society
of which I just could not break free
But here I am writing and reciting poetry,
my very own poetry
that flows so deeply inside of me
It's just been waiting to be set free
So here, here is to Poetry
and all of her children
who finally decided to just break free
and do what pleases the most important person in their life
a person called 'me'.
So here is to Poetry
to never giving up on telling her stories
that bring out the best in you and in me
