A source of mental therapy This has become of mine Though its momentarily It makes my world shine I don't know much about poetry Weather profound or borderline Through times of adversity All I have at any given time You could call my history That is put into this rhyme Perhaps the other side of me Just a little creative in design written 2009 2010 updated part one of a two peace write expressing what writing is to me thank you to poetry soup poets for inspiration over last few years xx

Poetry is one of the best medicines... Being a writer has helped me a great deal over the years, and I know the other poets here feel this way, too... You've expressed those same feelings well in this great piece. Nice work, David :)

Usually poetry is cathartic for me as well as fun however during this time of grieving for my mom and my empty Dad I often can’t find the words. God bless you, Poet!
