Notes About The Poem

The title, poetically man dwells, is a quote by the philosopher, Martin Heidegger.

Common Nightingale, photograph by Peter Garrity – Bird Guides

poetically man dwells

to dwell in physical form
neglects our inner being
to breathe in essence of self
never owned by anyone

the drabbest of birds
sings a lullaby of hope
whereas the ostentatious
will try to drown out the truth

as hope is the last to die
its song
will be there for all
who wish to hear it

hope perches in the soul
folding its wings
around our fluttering hearts

this is beautiful and so very deeply moving dear suzette; I like to argue about hope through poetry and otherwise but I must say what youv said here is so soul warming especially “ as hope is the last to die its song will be there for all ” so catchy and stands out for me: pleasure reading you today. Sending you light always

Thank you, dear Ink. Your poetry is mostly uplifting, where mine has been quite bleak the past 2 years. The darkness of mourning has passed and hope again is in my sights.
