Poetic Voices From Algeria

And as you think
you have known them for years,
in one single night,
you realise, they got rid of you ..
For they do not give a bit of damn
to friendship and good company
And they do not pay any heed
to any past
"stubborn mules" are muliplying
Trickery is strongly spreading
Talks are exchanged with regard
to nothing but pennies ..
And this is perhaps it:
I swear I should be crazy!
They are not worth an onion
while I am busy serving
them with many a pillow ..
