Poet Or Storyteller

I chose to identify as a poet
But these images are mere stories
Where my heart asks to tell about
All of the greats before me
Had a hard time with this

The mellow breeze calms me
I'm sitting alone in this park
Perfecting pieces of life into art
These words are fond of me
So I must talk about them

So might I ask I'm I
A poet or a storyteller
You decide I'll abide
Excuse me I must tend to
The woman and her child
Telling their stories of crossfire

Excellent dear Morgen! To me, a poet can convey a story in a few verses where a storyteller needs a book! Of course, that being said I enjoy both in their unique ways. But I have to admit I do prefer poetry rather than reading a book! Short attention span! Haha.. I really enjoyed this one.

We come across nice colours of emotion in your stories ... and emotion gathered into a stanza is definitely poetry ... enjoyed much your work ...

I agree with, Adeniji, when he says "A remarkable craft". However, as W H Yeats once remarked in one of his poems, it can also be remarkably hard work! Nicely espoused, Morgen...Keep faith...And keep up the good work! All the very best! :) john

A remarkable craft, Morgen. 'Perfecting pieces of life into art' is one of those most beautiful things on earth. I love this beauty.
