I know it’s been quite some time
Since we said good-bye.
The seasons change with every day
The winds don’t cease their sigh.

Daily tasks bring memories
Of things oft said and done.
Your smiling face; your love-filled eyes
That sparkled in the sun.

But God has called and chosen you
To be with Him today,
And those of us that’s left behind
Will someday go that way.

I know the path to Him is set
With Jesus by my side
And one day when my time has come,
With you I will abide.

Knowing you are safe in Him
Will make the wait seem brief
But till the day we meet again
I’ll linger in my grief.

I found your poem to be very emotive, a great tribute to your mum. I particularly liked the first stanza. Happy New Year.
