Please Take This Darkness Away
I wonder, oh how I wonder
What causes the pain I feel?
When her love departs from me
Was that love really real?
And what of those dreams
What happens now I must ask?
Will those dreams be someone else’s?
Covered by another’s mask?
Is the light now turned to darkness?
Does the world seem upside down?
Why is this pain lingering
Now that you’re no longer around
Oh to go back to those yesterdays
When you were so close to me
But love has no way of knowing
This one who is just history
Alone I manage my footsteps
And alone I try sleeping each night
But once I owned the world my friend
Because once I held true light
But darkness is all that’s left
And in darkness is where I stay
Please, oh please I beg anyone
Please take this darkness away
