Please Take Me Away

If there really is an alien race
Could you please take me from this place?
Away from this world full of hate
Please get me now don’t make me wait.

Have we learnt nothing all these years
Except how to make an ocean of tears?
From mothers weeping over the dead
It’s all too much for my weary head.

A Little Boy drops from high in the skies
Causing that girl in Hiroshima to vaporise
Leaving her shadow’s ghostly reminder
On some steps is all that’s left of her.

It all leads me to say I think I’m done
We’ve flown too high too close to the sun
If there really is an alien race
Could you please come take me away from this place?
