Please Not Number Nine

PLEASE, NOT NUMBER NINE
Whenever I see the number nine, Though it happened many years ago, My mind still conjours up the picture Off the day you told me we were through. Though I begged you for another chance And you could not explain the reason, Yet you packed your bags and walked away. The long-haul bus that took you from me, Mocked me as it drove off – number nine. 10th May 2021 A Time for Nine contest Sponsor - Michelle Faulkner Syllables counted by me!
