Please Lie To Me

They say the truth's, supposed to, set us free
But I'd rather, you let my, heart believe
That we feel the same, everyday
But if you don't...darlin please lie to me

I'd rather go on living, in a world full of lies
Content in this place, carved out in my mind
I still imagine that one day, together we'll be
If that's not the case, please lie to me

You say you, have feelings, for me
I just don't think, they go quite as deep
Darlin, there is no use, to burden me with the truth
If they don't, won't you please lie to me

You make living, feel like, it's new love
I believe you, were sent from above
I've poured out my heart, for the whole world to see
If you don't agree, please lie to me

Please lie to me
Let my poor heart be free
To live with the feeling
Of complete ecstasy

I'm not sure if we'll ever
Make memories.....
Do you hope we do......
Darlin please lie to me

I can't face the truth
Darlin please lie to me........

Very beautiful! We don't always want to know the truth because it hurts too much and living a lie is more comforting. I like how you captured that in verse.

Nicely written poem MP and that's the truth because I can't lie to you, regards, Kevin.
