Please Let Me Go
As I stand here asking to go home,
you chat together and I feel all alone.
You brush me off with your silly excuse,
And you wonder why I give you abuse!
Please can you not just show me the way?
I promise I will come back, another day.
But when I ask, you tell me sorry you can't go,
But who are these people to tell me no?
I rattle the doors desperate to get back to my wife, Surely this can't be the end of my life.
Those people who were chatting are nowhere to be seen,
I've done nothing wrong, how can they been so mean?
I'm sweating profusely and my heat beating so fast,
Just how long will this torture last?
A lady approaches me and tells me not to worry,
I tell her I need to get back, I'm in a hurry!
She told me my wife is shopping, will be back soon.
Come with me, we'll sit together in this room.
I'm so relieved this lady could hear,
I now sit waiting, sipping a cold beer.
