Please Don'T Stare At Me

please don't stare at me
that you're aware i clearly see
but I was hoping to go unseen
please help me keep up this charade
to myself
I would have stayed inside
but there were things that must be done
I shut my eyes against the sun
and braved the market
hoping to remain invisible
you couldn't have known
that I was hiding
in open air
and broad daylight
but, I am
and now if you will pretend
that I am not here
so will I
