Please Don't Read This

Please don’t read this
nor scan,
nor try to understand,

Or otherwise try
to take this 
egg-shell instance

And dissect it into 
a lesson plan
or mid-term exam.

It means more than that –
it’s egg-shell blue
hidden within a yew;

Safe unless blue-jay
finds a way 
to peck its shell

Then, to our dismay
We find our plans 
Are other than.
