Please, Don'T

please don’t touch me, my body hurts everywhere
from flying bomb shells
please don’t shoot her, she lost her child
from a cross fire stray bullet
please don’t beat him, he lost his son under
ruthless torture
please don’t violate my sister, she has been
disgraced like an ancient Sabine woman

look at that infant snuggling into her mother’s breast
to suckle milk though she was already dead from starvation
look at that little boy searching for his father
under the collapsed building debris
look at that pack of stray dogs fighting viciously
among themselves for a piece of rotten flesh from a corpse

instead, please paralyze that peace-breakers ugly mindset
instead, please dethrone that evildoer wielding absolute power
instead, please wipe intruders out from the surface of the earth
