Please Bring Daddy Home
Alyssa was only five
Went to the mall with her mom, too.
It was just a short drive.
She wanted to buy something new.
Santa was sitting in his chair
She had a letter for him that night
Alyssa walked up to say hello
Got on his lap and held on tight
Santa said, "What is that in your hand?"
Alyssa replied, "A letter for only you."
"Please don't read it, til we are through."
Alyssa had to have her picture taken, too.
As she walked away, Santa had to take a break.
Went to the back of the store, ate some cookies
That Mrs. Santa, made for him she just had to bake
Dear Santa,
Christmas will soon be here
My only wish is you bring daddy home
Don't want daddy spending Christmas alone
You see Santa, daddy was sent over sea
So he could fight for mommy and me
Even if its for a little while
I promise I will be a good child, too
Please make my wish come true
By the time he read it,
Tears were running down his face
That little girl, in the back of his mind
He just couldn't erase.
Christmas was finally here
Alyssa ran down to the tree
Nowhere in the house
Did her daddy she see
She was disappointed, as can be
Said, "All I wanted was daddy
To be here with me."
All of a sudden, she heard a noise
She turned around, there daddy stood.
Alyssa screamed, "I knew Santa could."
"He brought you home to me, like he should."
For you that believe there is no Santa
You may want to change your mind, too
For Alyssa believed in him,
Thats why her wish came true.
