Please
Please whoever’s out there
Let my soul be forever tainted
With the sorrows of my yesterdays
And the worries of my tomorrows
If I said I wished for certainty
I know it’d be a lie
Because certainty is the thief of the spark that makes me try
And when it’s already so weak and close to extinction
I pray to the stars alone that it only keeps on breathing
Without fire we are nothing, without purpose we are restless
We’d spend our days alone with the word that is unless
And if I’m ever content with the greys of my periphery
Please give me something else in the distance that will sing to me
My peace is my unknowingly, anxious, hungry way of viewing
And if my eyes no longer understand then please whoever’s out there
