Playtime

She had lots of fun
Hot dates in the sun
Her body was willing to share.
Defeated by time
And squeezed like a lime
For comfort she plays solitaire.

She should get out there and prune the roses. Solitaire will make her more miserable. // Hugs, Julia, xx

Paul , time is the enemy of youth. Tis' also the enemy of any beautiful young lady's shining presentation that almost all men are programmed genetically to admire and desire! Yet sometimes one sees a lady in her 60's and 70's that still has it all. Surely they are blessed but one has to wonder why them and not others. One of life's mysteries I suppose.

You are right, Robert. Taking good care of one's body has a lot to do with it...and that depends a lot on lifestyle! Of course, health, stress and worry have their say, too. All the best my friend. // paul

It is sad how some people think their youth will last forever and they don't plan for the future. A great little Alouette you have created Paul! I love this form which a good friend, Jan Turner, created.

Thank you Connie. These short forms are very good tools to work with. I do not know much about Jan Turner except that she invented some poetry forms, amongst them the Alouette and the Florette. You are lucky to be friends with her; was she on Soup? // paul

Correct you are, Rajat! Life is a transition that leads from one stage to another...till we arrive at the end of the journey! May our journey be long and fruitful, my friend:) // paul

Sadly, the more we age, the more solitary we become. It's true, but, there are other ways to amuse ourselves and pass the time... A very clever and charming write, Paul. And, nicely rhymed, too!
