Playlist Poetry

There are evenings when I walk through “In My Life,”
and find old footsteps waiting in the rain;
“Yesterday” is sitting by the window,
quietly teaching memory its pain.

Yet somewhere beyond the fading shadows,
“Here Comes the Sun” across the garden wall;
and I remember “All You Need Is Love,”
though love itself cannot prevent a fall.

I have traveled “The Long and Winding Road,”
through years I never thought I’d understand;
and learned that “Let It Be” is not surrender—
it is opening the heart, and unclenching hands.

Perhaps “When I’m Sixty-Four” was only dreaming,
but every year has left its mark on me;
and now “Across the Universe” I listen
for something larger than I used to see.

There was “Something” I could never name,
a tenderness that followed me through years;
and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” reminds me
that even music sometimes sounds like tears.

If tomorrow finds me walking slowly,
with fewer roads and fewer things to prove,
I will carry “And I Love Her” in my heart—
not as a promise, but as something true.

And when the final evening gathers softly,
and “Blackbird” disappears into the night,
I hope I leave behind a little kindness,
a little warmth, a little borrowed light.
