Playlist Poetry

Been a jackaroo for many years with my "swaggle on my shoulder"
a "diamantina drover" throughout the river land
"Ive been everywhere" meeting many women
none have been of interest never asked any for their hand

But now I know "I'll never find another you"
here is a proposal for you to be my wife
For the honeymoon a trip on the "morning town ride"
celebrate togetherness for the rest of yours and my life

We'll travel through the desert to Uluru
a mighty monolith it may even be "raining on the rock"
"Imagine" the scenery atop now prohibited as it's sacred land
tourists every year by the thousands is where they flock

We'll return and purchase a rural farm
with a "home among the gum trees"
kangaroo grass bracken fern and "cootamundra wattle"
a place in summer where we'll enjoy a cooling breeze

We'll own five hundred acres raising
sheep pigs goats horses poultry and cattle
Once a year at shearing time removal of fleece
"click go the shears" will be the rattle

We'll enjoy raising a happy family
living mostly in a "world of our own"
Passing on our mentorship and wisdom
until all the children have grown

Through the times of hardship
that rural life will raise
Always be assured "that help is on its way"
support from friends on challenging days

Together we have always stood on "solid rock"
growing older we'll reflect "looking forward looking back"
Many family photographs stored amongst our memorabilia stock
